Asakusabashi, Taito Ward Construction of a single building on a narrow lot

Architectural Design

Case study of a problem solution to a narrow site

Concept

Maximising the value of a single building on a narrow site in Asakusabashi

Point1

New construction of a single building on a narrow site.

Point2

Over the third floor, a roof balcony was used to maximise space utilisation, along with the installation of a space behind the shed.

Point3

By carefully explaining the project to the neighbouring landowners, we were able to maintain friendly neighbourly relations and the construction progress was made without delay.

First floor

designing the space to be flexible enough to meet the needs of multi-purpose use.

Second floor

Second floor and above with a floor plan that also allows for multiple dwelling use.

Point4

Achieved a Japanese modern architecture by simply combining only two colours and creating a full expression of the building with planting and casual lighting, despite the small entrance, which is a key point of the façade.
