Tamanawa, Kamakura City, a newly built house that eliminates the deformed land (fan shape), elevation difference, and developed land
Case study of a problem solution to a deformed (fan-shaped) elevation difference and built-up land
- Land
-
Land 130 m2 for both Building A and Building B, building 100 m2
- Point1
-
A Japanese modern built-for-sale house that does not look like a typical built-for-sale houses, making effective use of the height difference and fan-shaped site in Tamanawa, Kamakura City.
- Point2
-
A fan-shaped site with a difference in elevation from the neighbouring property was divided into two halves, not only to avoid matching the level of the adjacent land and neighbourhood, but also to make use of the difference in elevation to create an excellent view. By utilising the fan-shaped site and shifting the angles of the buildings, the design was designed in such a way that both sides can maintain privacy.
- Point3
-
The interior and exterior look like custom-built houses, which, although built for sale, are not standardised in design. By placing the entrance doors on the side rather than the front of both buildings, the design of the facades and privacy are preserved.
- Point4
-
"Designed with a single-sloping roof to bring a modern Japanese touch. Using the slope of the roof, the LDK was placed on the second floor with a maximum ceiling height of approximately 3m. Sweeping open sashes, a wood balcony about one room deep and height adjustment with a deep foundation create an open space in the living room with a good view."
- No.A
-
"The exterior walls of Building A are painted black galvalume on the upper part and white rock-finished painted walls on the lower part, expressing a Japanese modern style with the image of a kura (Japanese traditional storehouse). In addition, a wood fence was installed to block the retaining wall of the neighbouring property and was constructed to enhance the design."
- No.B
-
Outer walls of Building B are decorated with woodgrain accents between the first and second floors, and the entire surface is painted in a light brown rock-finish to express a modern Japanese style.
